The 19-27 Young Street redevelopment plans will transform the current NCP car park into new, high quality homes.

Grainger plc was selected to redevelop and manage the council-owned car park site at Young Street, as well as another under-utilised site at Hortensia Road, by the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea in September 2012.

The Royal Borough granted planning permission for 53 homes at Young Street and 31 new homes at Hortensia Road. This follows a comprehensive public consultation on the plans with local communities, ward councillors and the Council. These homes will be managed by Grainger under a 125 year agreement, for which they will receive a management fee. The Council will retain the freehold and will share a proportion of the long term rental income stream with Grainger.

Construction on site continues to progress to schedule, with the 7th floor slab now cast and work on the steel frame to the penthouse apartment due to commence. Internal works are progressing well, including the installation of the main mechanical and electrical plant in the building. The external facade work is also well underway including the window installation.
